Nice to meet you. My name is Andrew Tierney. My name in Japanese is Makoto Tamazaki.
After gaining experience in public accounting firms, including the Big 4 in the United States, I established ATMT CPA Firm. I am eager to assist with any inquiries you have regarding your expatriate tax returns.
I was born in Gunma Prefecture, Japan. With an American father and Japanese mother, I graduated from a high school in Japan and majored in accounting at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. During my student years, I actively worked as a hibachi and sushi chef in local Japanese restaurant.
After graduating from university, I worked as a Tax Manager and Office Manager at a public accounting firm in Florida. Leveraging my bilingual skills in Japanese and English, I handled approximately 500 cases annually, including accounting tasks for Japanese companies based in the USA, payroll tax management, responses to tax authorities’ notices, and the preparation of US individual tax returns. Additionally, I conducted training on US taxation and accounting within the firm, passing on my passion for US taxation and the intricacies of the subject, leading to the qualification of multiple Enrolled Agents.
During my time at Deloitte, I gained experience in international tax practices, handling US individual tax returns for both Inbound and Outbound employees from Japan’s leading financial institutions and automotive manufacturers.
Currently, I provide US tax filing services for Japanese residents in the US and American residents in Japan. Furthermore, I offer support for small business accounting and US corporate tax returns.
